Tiny drawing about a tiny me and a tiny friend

A little drawing I did about me and a friend and the day we first met in 1992.

In the background: the horse-loving gossip girls.

New business cards

They finally arrived, hurray!

I printed them over at MOO, where they will let you select up to a hundred different images per batch. Nice! They print on a matte, silky paper, and the colors usually come out great. Plus, I really like that small format instead of the regular business card size.

Lilly Piri

Australian belle Lilly Piri makes the sweetest, softest colour pencil drawings. I myself used to work with pencils only when I was small (say, to the age of 18), and Lilly’s work is a good example of why all of us illustrators should not cast aside our pencils at a certain point to go crazy on the computer all the time.
I love the soft toning in her work, and am amazed at how she manages to get such beautiful gradients out of a pencil. Plus, she often incorporates all those cute little aussie critters like possums and echidnas in her drawings. How can you not love that? How! You can’t.

Lilly’s website is here: Little Galaxie.

Of hairdressing and the elimination of cleavage

Mandy got some new haircuts and outfits, because apparently she was too sexy for advertisers on the site. Hah.
Working on Mandy always feels like playing with barbie.. dressing her up, fixing her hair.. I was never really into that when I was young, but I guess I am now..!
